Rainer Nonnengässer

Since June 2021, after having been CEO for two and a half years, Rainer Nonnengässer (born 1963) is Executive Chairman of the International Campus Group.

The International Campus Group is one of the leading platforms for Student Housing and Micro Living in Germany and Northern Europe. International Campus counts among the pioneers of this asset class and has been active for more than a decade as developer, investor, asset manager and operator of innovative apartment houses. While the brand THE FIZZ focuses on students, the HVNS brand, pronounced “havens,” is aimed at urban professionals. At the moment, the International Campus Group has around 6,000 beds under construction or in operation. The goal is to build up a proprietary real estate portfolio of 10,000 beds in Central Europe by 2023.

Until 2018 Nonnengaesser was CEO Micro-Living at MPC (Staytoo). He has more than 20 years experience in the real estate industry. After working at the investment company Union Investment, the trained banker held various management positions and board positions within the AXA Group since 1998. From 2010 to 2013 Mr. Nonnengässer was CEO of YOUNIQ AG (one of the market leaders for student housing). He has directed all project development, asset management, sale & purchase activities and was in charge of ongoing improvement of operational processes and operational management of student accommodation sites. Mr. Nonnengässer was responsible for investor relations and institutional clients. Experience of development of 1,870 student apartments on 9 sites; approx. 3,000 units under management.
