Prof. Dr. Matthias Thomas

Matthias Thomas combines over 30 years of professional experience with an extensive academic career path in the area of indirect real estate investing. His focus is on business development and managing the relationships with existing as well as potential investors in CAERUS funds and SMAs.

Most recently he worked as Senior Director Institutional Sales at Real Exchange AG, Hamburg, facilitating secondary market transactions in institutional property funds as well as raising capital for third party property funds. During his time as CEO of INREV, the European Association of Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate Vehicles in Amsterdam, his responsibilities included the expansion INREV interests from classic real estate funds to real estate debt funds and individual mandates.

Further stations in his professional career were (among others) DID Deutsche Immobilien Datenbank (now MSCI Germany) and in academia the Chair for Real Estate Management at EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht. Matthias is Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a honorary member of the German Society of Property Researchers.
