Jillian Hardie is Director for the Buildings team, for Scotland, Northern Ireland and North East England. As a trusted adviser to key clients Jillian is passionate about low carbon design and ensuring the development of cities enables inclusive growth, delivering greater prosperity and equity. She has delivered multi-disciplinary design on national and international projects and is helping clients set measurable actionable targets against economic, social and environmental sustainability across development portfolios to deliver improved performance.

The Covid-19 pandemic has significantly changed the way people work, live and play including a significant impact on economic growth, however there have been immediate benefits in terms of air quality, congestion, noise pollution and reduction in emissions. As practitioners involved in shaping the built environment, we are learning rapidly from the experiences of different cities – sharing this knowledge, exploring new data and thinking about the longer-term implications.
