Gail Mayhew

A placemaking specialist with 30 years’ experience, Gail is responsible for implementing FuturePlaces’ vision to create innovative and sustainable places across BCP. Throughout her career she has been a champion for stewardship and design quality, particularly through her involvement in the Building Better Building Beautiful Commission and Quality of Life Commission.

As co-founder of The Stewardship Initiative and Smart Growth Associates, Gail is an authority on developing and safeguarding beautiful places through long term investment, which in term maximises long term value. Her approach is informed by a wealth of research across sustainable, mixed-use urban regeneration – published and upcoming reports include investigations into the impact of mixed-use in creating healthy communities and the role of high streets in placemaking and supporting sustainable urban footprinting.
