Central and Eastern Europe’s real estate markets face a mixed outlook as investors navigate geopolitical uncertainty, currency risk, and persistent capital constraints — with Poland, the region’s largest market, the centre of attention following the recent presidential election and doubts over the impact of a nationalist policy approach on the market and on legislation affecting the sector.
2025 started well for the CEE region, with signs of a continued rebound for the commercial real estate sector. According to Colliers, total investment volumes across the region grew by 143% yoy in Q1, following a 70% increase in 2024. Czechia emerged as the top performer, but other CEE countries also experienced strong growth. What are the prospects for the region given the ongoing war in Ukraine and persistent global trade tensions? US investors are playing a significant role: will this trend continue? Which sectors are most attractive to investors? Which countries offer the best opportunities? Will a shortage of domestic capital continues to hamper liquidity and investor confidence in Poland? Is the prospect of REIT legislation less likely now? Will the nearshoring trend continue to boost the logistics sector? To what extent are CEE countries benefitting from the long-term relocation of manufacturing and logistics operations from Germany? Which countries are still competitive on costs and labour? What about operational real estate, especially student housing and senior living?
These and other questions will be discussed by our panel of experts. Attendance is free, but please register now to secure your place
