Witold M. Orłowski

Professor of Economics, Rector of the Vistula University (Warsaw) and Chief Economic Advisor, PWC POLSKA

Witold Orłowski is a Member of the National Development Council of the President and chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Museum in Warsaw.  He is former economic advisor to the president Aleksander Kwaśniewski, member of the National Development Council of the president Lech Kaczyński, and Economic Council of the prime minister Donald Tusk. He studied at the University of Lodz and Harvard University.  From 1993 to 1997 he worked at the World Bank. From 2001 until 2005 he was the chief economic advisor to the president. He has also been the Dean at the Business School of the Warsaw University of Technology, advisor to the Chief Negotiator of the EU membership of Poland, Special Advisor to the European Commission, member of the Macroeconomic Council of the Minister of Finance, and consultant to many international and national bodies and organizations.  He is the author of 11 books and 200 scientific publications, popular economic commentator and columnist of major Polish newspapers.
