Tony Smedley

Tony is responsible for the management and investment of the Continental European real estate funds platform at Schroders. This involves fund and asset management, resourcing, capital raising and business development.  He is also a member of the Schroder Real Estate Investment Committee.

Tony is Fund Manager of the European Real Estate Investment Trust and Immobilien Europa Direkt, a fund joint venture with Zurich, both of these investing on a Pan European basis.

Previously, Tony was Head of European Funds at Invista REIM, a €10 billion business, where he created the property fund management business in Continental Europe, opening an office in Paris and launching/investing four funds. At Invista he chaired the European Investment Committee, sat on the Management Board and also assisted in the launch of the Asian business.

Prior to Invista, Tony was a Partner at Fountain Capital Partners (now Cushman & Wakefield Investors) in Paris, joining at the founding stage with responsibility for segregated accounts and the growth of the business in Continental Europe. He has previously been a Director of Capital Markets at Jones Lang LaSalle in Brussels where he had been responsible for some of the largest real estate advisory transactions in the market.

Tony is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Investment Property Forum and an FCA Approved Person.
