Prof. Scott L. Eckstein

Managing Director, Active Living International, USA

Prof. Scott L. Eckstein is a dedicated advocate for senior care, driven by a personal passion rooted in his own grandparents’ experiences. His commitment to enhancing the lives of seniors is evident through his extensive work in creating specially-designed communities that integrate technology to provide stimulating, comfortable, and safe environments. These communities enable seniors, particularly the frail elderly, to maintain their dignity and live purposefully, whether in their own homes or in purpose-built senior living facilities.

With a deep understanding of the complex social issues within the senior living industry, prof. Scott L. Eckstein combines sensitivity with practical expertise. His career spans the development and operation of various social and residential alternatives for the aging population. He has also played a pivotal role in matching talent with operators to ensure the highest standards of care.

Scott L. Eckstein’s journey in senior care began in 1996 with the first assisted living development project in Brooklyn, New York, addressing a significant need for senior services in the area. His contributions continued as part of the team that developed Europe’s first purpose-built active adult senior community. Additionally, he has operated assisted living and dementia care businesses for leading senior housing companies in the United States.

Scott L. Eckstein holds an undergraduate business degree from The American University in Washington D.C. and an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business, where his Master’s thesis focused on senior housing and assisted living.
