Peter Hill acts as a Senior Advisor to PwC on domestic and international politics, as well as on climate and energy. Peter has held a wide range of senior positions across government; contributing to foreign and European policy, leading international negotiations and working with and in international institutions, including as adviser to the EU trade commissioner. As the PPS and Director General for Downing Street between 2017 and late 2019, he advised Theresa May and Boris Johnson on all aspects of government; domestic, European and international, during a turbulent period in UK politics. Subsequently, Peter led the 26th COP conference, managing net zero policy initiatives, international diplomacy and UN negotiations, providing him with unique insights and in depth specialism in the climate and energy agenda. Together, these experiences have resulted in extensive relationships with domestic and international governments and institutions around the world, as well as unparalleled experience at the highest levels of Government. Peter provides insightful analysis of UK politics and geopolitics, as well as the challenges and opportunities of the net zero transition.
Peter is the founding partner with Lord Gavin Barwell of NorthStar advisory. He is also senior visiting fellow at the London School of Economics and the chair of the international climate not for profit organisation Pathways Global.
