Peter Gassmann

Peter Gassmann is the Global Strategy & Leader and a Senior Strategy Expert of the ESG platform at PwC. He has been one of the leading figures to develop PwC/Strategy&’s unique “strategy through execution and reporting” ESG approach across all industries. With his deep expertise Peter supports clients to develop and implement leading strategies and business models in a dramatically changing economic and technological environment. With more than 20 years of experience, Peter has successfully led multiple high-profile engagements in international settings in Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas. In recent years he has supported clients to understand the challenges and opportunities of ESG-related aspects and to transform the necessary business accordingly.

Before joining PwC Strategy&, Peter was a divisional board member and Senior Risk Executive with a leading European bank where he led the market and operational risk units as well as the group-wide Basel II program. He also served in supervisory boards with regional banks. Peter started his professional career in investment banking in London after having received a PhD in Physics from the university in Aachen. Peter is a regular speaker at international conferences and has contributed to many publications.
