Paulo Sarmento joined Meyer Bergman in September 2013 as a Principal, focusing on acquisitions in Western Europe and asset management. Prior to joining Meyer Bergman, Paulo spent 15 years with Multi Development as the Commercial Director of Southern Europe, where he was responsible for circa one million sqm of shopping centres. Paulo also served as the Managing Director of Italy and Brazil while at Multi Development, where he was responsible for the general management of the Italian and Brazilian subsidiaries of Multi Corporation, including retail development and asset management.
Prior to this, Paulo was a Sales and Marketing manager at Sonae Sierra, where he was responsible for the leasing of over 600 stores in Portuguese shopping centres.
Paulo received an M.B.A. from Universidade Nova de Lisboa and is fluent in English, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish and French.
