Marius Schöner is Managing Director, Head of Residential EMEA & Country Manager  of CBRE Investment Management Germany. As Head of EMEA Residential Operator Division, Marius oversees all asset managers working for the EMEA residential platform and is responsible for the execution of residential investment strategies. He is also instrumental in the development of investment strategies for the residential sector. Marius is also responsible for the management of the German business and is a member of the European Management Board.

Prior to joining CBRE Investment Management in 2014, Mr. Schöner spent the previous 8 years as the Country Manager of Macquarie Global Property Advisors (MGPA) and was responsible for building and managing their German real estate business. In 2013, MGPA was acquired by BlackRock, where Mr. Schöner was responsible for leading BlackRock’s German and Polish real estate business and for integrating MGPA’s operations with the new organization.

Before joining BlackRock, Mr. Schöner held senior positions at Morgan Stanley, where he was responsible for building and managing a pan-European portfolio as part of the German open-ended fund strategy and also at Deka Immobilien, where he was responsible for investment activities in both Southern and Eastern Europe.

Mr. Schöner has over 25 years experience in the Real Estate industry. He holds a master in business administration (Diplom. Betriebswirt) from the European Business School, Oestrich-Winkel with a focus on finance and real estate and a Master in Business Administration (Diplomkaufmann) from the Open University of Hagen with a focus on HR and strategic planning.
