Johannes Lichtenthaler is Head of (Service) Development and Investment at Drees & Sommer, where he has been responsible since 2025 for establishing and scaling the Service Development division. With more than 25 years of executive experience in real estate project development and management, he specializes in turning ambitious visions into economically compelling, high-impact developments that create long-term value.
He previously served as Director of Project Development at Gustav Zech Stiftung and as Partner and Head of North Germany at Art-Invest Real Estate, following executive roles at Prelios (formerly Pirelli RE) and Sonae Sierra. Across these positions, he has managed investment volumes from €10 million to €400 million and delivered landmark mixed-use, placemaking and urban district projects.
Educated in civil engineering in Germany and Norway, and holding an MBA from Germany and the USA, he combines technical depth with strategic and financial expertise.
