Joe Manning

Joe Manning joined the Growth Company in 2023 as Managing Director of MIDAS, Manchester’s Inward Investment Agency, charged with driving significant levels of new investment into Greater Manchester.

Prior to joining, Joe gained extensive experience in the public sector, having joined the Growth Company from Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership where he was the Deputy Chief Executive. Previously he was a Senior Civil Servant in the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and the Department for Levelling Up, Housing, and Communities. In these roles he led on a range of economic areas including Industrial Strategy and Local Industrial Strategies, R&D and Innovation. Before joining Government, Joe worked in think tanks and the third sector.
