João Torroaes Valente joined the firm in 2018, as a partner, to coordinate the corporate real estate practice at Morais Leitão, where he heads the Corporate Real Estate & Tourism Department.

João is a corporate real estate, tourism and investment fund specialist. He advises national and foreign investors on corporate real estate transactions, including the development and sale and purchase of shopping centres, retail parks, offices, and logistic, residential and tourism projects.

Previously he worked as counsel at Uría Menéndez-Proença de Carvalho in Lisbon’s office (2004-2018), and at Vasconcelos, F. Sá Carneiro, Fontes & Associados (2000-2004).

João is a lecturer in postgraduate courses at the Católica Lisbon School of Law, the University of Lisbon School of Law and at the Porto Business School, where he lectures on real estate & tourism joint ventures, real estate financing, tourism & leisure, and real estate investment vehicles.

He also regularly participates as speaker in seminars and conferences on real estate, tourism and investment funds, having authored several articles on his areas of expertise.
