Jeffrey A. Barclay

Jeffrey is head of the Real Estate Investment Group (REIG), which is a part of the Alternative Investments & Manager Selection (AIMS) Group within the Investment Management Division. REIG invests both in direct commercial real estate and in fund managers on behalf of Goldman Sachs Asset Management and Private Wealth Management clients. He has more than 30 years of real estate investing experience. Jeffrey joined Goldman Sachs as a managing director in 2010.
Prior to joining the firm, Jeffrey was responsible for leading real estate investment activity for Clarion Partners, one of the largest US real estate investment management firms and, from 1998 through 2010, a wholly owned subsidiary of the ING Group. He served on the firm’s Executive Board, Operating Committee and led its Investment Committee.
Jeffrey has served as chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers (NAREIM) and chairman of the IOPC Gold Council of the Urban Land Institute (ULI). He is a member of the board of the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA) and a founding member of the Defined Contribution Real Estate Council. He serves as an adjunct professor in the MBA program at the Columbia Business School.
Jeffrey earned a BS in Economics and an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Columbia University.
