Ingeborg de Jong is managing director of real estate and area developer Timpaan from Hoofddorp, recently celebrating her 10th year at this position. Timpaan focuses on contemporary homes and innovative housing concepts for first-time buyers, families, the elderly, and those requiring care. The company has a strong track record in affordable housing for the buyer’s market. Operating in towns, villages, and urban neighbourhoods in the western and central Netherlands, with both new construction and renovation projects. Timpaan is a foundation, so the profits that are generated do not go to shareholders. The foundation board determines annually which social real estate projects these profits will be allocated to.

Ingeborg de Jong holds a unique position in the real estate sector. She is not only the Managing Director of the Timpaan operating company but also the Executive Director of the Timpaan Foundation, the shareholder. Having a Foundation as a shareholder brings a different focus and consideration to Timpaan’s decisions, how risks are assessed, and which projects are worked on.

Before working at Timpaan, De Jong has extensive experience both at the municipality side as Manager Real Estate Development and Land Affairs at Gemeente Leiden, as partner in consultancy firm Boer&Croon and as Director of Sales Land Company at the national railroad company NS.
