Dr. Maximilian Riede
Head ESG Germany, Swiss Life Asset Managers
Since August 2022 Dr. Maximilian Riede is heading the ESG Germany department at Swiss Life Asset Managers in Germany. He is responsible for the entire ESG management in the german market with a focus on real estate. In previous roles, heading the ESG department at Drees & Sommer SE, he was responsible for topics such as ESG global and sustainability management, and took over the management of an ESG consulting team. In 2012-2020, Dr. Riede led the consulting company alpS GmbH in the function of CEO, ensured its expansion into the Southern Germany region and led up to 25 employees in consulting in the areas of climate risk, sustainability, climate adaptation and climate protection.
From 2011-2022 he was also active as an entrepreneur with his own start-up in the education sector.
Dr. Riede studied geography, economics and english at the Universities of Innsbruck, Wagenigen and New Orleans and holds a PhD in geography with a focus on sustainability.
