Dr. Frank Billand FRICS

Dr. Frank Billand is CIO and Member of the Management Board of Union Investment Real Estate since 2009.
He is responsible for all investment and divestment activities of Union Investment Real Estate world wide.
During the first years at Union Investment his responsibilities were all transactions and the Asset Management in Germany, for Shopping Centre and Hotels. Apart from that he was in charge of all property development and construction projects acquired and/or realized by UIR.
Before joining Union Investment at the End of 2002, Dr. Billand worked for 18 years for Hochtief based in Essen, initially developing and setting up a department for project finance (focusing mainly on South and Central Europe and South Africa) and, from 1990 setting up the company’s real-estate project development business. In 1991 he was appointed Chairman of the Management Board of the then founded subsidiary HOCHTIEF Projektentwicklung GmbH. Frank completed a banking traineeship and received a degree in economics from Münster University, where he also obtained his PhD from the institute of transport economics.
