Dirk is a Valuation Partner based in Berlin and has been working for PwC since 1994. Dirk holds an Expert title for International Valuation of Real Estate by ebs European Business School, Oestrich-Winkel and gained a Dipl.-Ing. at Technical University Dresden.
Dirk is a Member of the Board of BVS Federal Association of Publicly Appointed, Sworn and Qualified Experts, Germany; Member of the ZIA e.V. [German Property Federation] working group “Accounting and Valuation”; and since 2016 a Member of the Tangible Assets Board of IVSC International Valuation Standard Council. He was also a Member of the working group at the Institute of Public Auditors in Germany for the standard IDW S10 “Valuation of Real Estate”.
He has many years of experience in advising companies and investors in the national and international environment on valuation topics. His focus is beside office and commercial real properties on valuations in the health care, hotel and leisure, and retail sector.
Since ESG is coming an important factor in real estate valuation, he is developing a valuation model to consider the impact of ESG in real estate valuations on asset level.
Dirk coordinates the EMEA real estate valuation group and is a member of the global PwC valuation network. Dirk has been involved in Real estate transactions (buy and sell side), IPO´s of real estate companies and IFRS conversion projects.
Dirk is the co-author of the book “Investing in German Real Estate: A practical guide”. This book gives a real life insights from countless real estate investments, covering all aspects of a successful investment process in Germany and includes markets, the regulatory framework and investment guidelines.
