Councillor Scott Farmer

Scott was first elected to Stirling Council in the Borestone By- Election of 2006. From 2008 until 2012 Scott served as Depute Leader of Stirling Council. At the 2012 elections he was re-elected as an SNP Councillor and in 2013 he was elected Group Leader. At the Local Government Elections in 2017 Scott became Leader of Stirling Council.
He worked formerly as a benefits adviser with Citizens Advice Bureau developing a particular interest in housing and employment law. He engaged in representation both at disability and employment appeal tribunals. He has worked both in the private and public sectors in areas of economic development and employability. He then moved into the field of social care and worked for a charity working in the fields of homelessness, childcare, refugee services and international development.
