Carsten Brzeski
Senior Economist, ING, Belgium
As Senior Economist in ING’s Economics Department, Carsten is mainly responsible for monitoring economic developments in Germany and the Eurozone, including monetary policy of the ECB. He frequently comments on macro-economic developments in national and international media (e.g. BBC, ZDF, Bloomberg TV, Financial Times (Deutschland), Handelsblatt and Wall Street Journal). Prior to joining ING, Carsten worked at ABN Amro’s Economics Department in Amsterdam and spent almost 4 years at the European Commission in the unit dealing with monetary and exchange rate matters in Europe. From 2000 to early 2004, he was Senior Policy Advisor on European and international economic issues at the Dutch Ministry of Finance, with special emphasis on monetary and fiscal policy in the Eurozone.
Carsten is a graduate in Economics at Free University of Berlin. He also studied at Northeastern University in Boston and Harvard University in Cambridge, USA.
