Andrew has worked in retail for more than 25 years, his focus being on better understand the consumer and always relating that back to what retailers should look to deliver.
Andrew is currently the Head of Retail Research and Consulting for EMEA and is responsible for overseeing, developing and directing both the research agenda and the consulting proposition.
Leading a team based in the UK as well as local resource in each market across EMEA Andrew’s focus is on creating and maintaining a centre of excellence that is utilised to ensure that clients across EMEA receive an outstanding level of service.
With a career wholly focused on retail Andrew has worked for Harrods, consulted to retailers whilst working for a boutique practice and most recently before joining CBTRE worked and the global research company GfK as head of retail and latterly global head of online retailing,
Andrew has always enjoyed the opportunity to work overseas and to date has carried out projects in 43 different markets ranging from full scale business strategy development, category management, segmentation profiling through to in store marketing execution and development of mystery shopper programmes. With the breadth of experience in terms of both projects and geographies Andrew is well placed to advise both local and international retailers, landlords and investors on market strategy, diversification, diagnostics and execution at point of customer contact.
Andrew’s role at CBRE is all about building international relationships to better service clients. Andrew has close contact with his counterparts in Asia and North America to ensure any global learning is maximised.
Andrew’s breadth of knowledge has resulted in him being asked to speak at events across different geographies. These have included Spain, Austria, Estonia, South Africa, Dubai, USA, UK, Germany and Australia.
CBRE has always invested in broadening the knowledge and understanding of retail and retail real estate. Andrew is focused on expanding the research output and offering more insight and more actionable output via both ongoing and new research deliverables.
