As Head of Divestments for Skanska’s commercial development unit in CEE, Adrian Karczewicz is responsible for sourcing buyers and conducting transaction processes in four CEE markets: Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania.
While working at Skanska, Adrian and the transactions team have divested nearly 30 office buildings totaling almost EUR 1.5bn. He conducted not only single asset transactions but also office portfolio deals across Skanska’s CEE markets. His team also led Skanska’s first ever hotel divestment in Poland.
During his time at Skanska, Adrian has established partnerships with many new investors entering CEE markets. He has developed good relationships with investors who have become Skanska repeat clients. Being strongly focused on market-making activities, Adrian meets with investment managers and investors each year to showcase Skanska’s CEE projects and discuss clients’ strategies and requirements. With this in mind, he visits a number of countries including Germany, the UK, Canada, and South Korea. Adrian’s proactive approach and relationship-building were recognized by the Skanska Group worldwide with the 2017 Market Maker Award. He is always willing to share his knowledge with colleagues from other Skanska markets. He was involved in the sales process of a Skanska asset in London – the Monument office building (GBP 118m). Adrian started his professional career in 1997 as an analyst at Gerald Eve International. He then went on to work for Knight Frank in Warsaw, and GE Capital Golub Real Estate. Prior to joining Skanska in 2013, he worked for Echo Investment as the director responsible for the company’s asset divestments.
