Friedrich Georg Warmbold MRICS

Friedrich Georg Warmbold is Head of Investment Management Residential for Europe at Union Investment Real Estate, a department which was newly established in 2021.

In this role, he leads a team of four specialised residential investment managers who are responsible for residential acquisitions and sales in Europe (ex DACH), working in close cooperation with Union`s local offices in London and Paris. Friedrich has been working for Union Investment since October 2014. After starting as a Junior Investment Manager responsible for office transactions in Ireland and Spain, he handed over market responsibility for Spain in 2017 and was responsible for the UK and Ireland as a Senior Investment Manager until 2021.

Friedrich has significant transactional experience having completed 18 deals with an investment volume of around EUR 4.0 billion. Notable examples include the sale of the Aqua portfolio (EUR 1.0 billion, 17 properties, 6 countries) and the acquisition of ‘8th Lock’ in Dublin as the first major institutional residential forward funding project in the Irish investment market.

Prior to joining Union Investment, Friedrich worked as an investment analyst at IVG Investment in Frankfurt. He studied at the IRE|BS Institute of the University of Regensburg and the University of Reading (Henley Business School) and holds two Master of Science degrees in Real Estate. He has been a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) since 2018 and has been involved with the ULI since 2023.
