Ismail Ersahin

The World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) was established in 1995, as an Association under Swiss law and has been registered in Geneva, as a non-governmental organization. Members can join us as membership is open to any agency, government body or entity whose prime function is “to promote any country, political sub-division of a country or other uncontested territory, as a destination for, or as source of investments”.

We gather and connect worldwide investment promotion agencies (IPAs), to cooperate and share their experiences and expertise among each other. In 1995, WAIPA was founded by UNCTAD & 50 other IPAs. Since then, WAIPA continues representing Members with dedication to assist and support them through wide range of activities and events. These are for human capacity building, world-class training, access to research and data, policies and strategies advice and more. We occasionally coordinate events with our elite partner organizations. Our members’ FDI development is the vision we look forward to.

Ismail Ersahin is a 20-years expert in international relations, investment promotion, facilitation and business development. He has held various leadership positions for the private sector & the Government of Turkey before joining the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) in 2015 as Deputy CEO, becoming CEO & Executive Director in February 2023.
